A suspect in last week’s five homicides in Pearcy was shot and killed when authorities attempted to arrest him at a local hotel Thursday night, and a member of the Garland County Sheriff’s Department Tactical Response Team was shot and seriously wounded during the operation.

The TRT team went to the National Park Inn, 1125 E. Grand Ave., formerly the Rodeway Inn, sometime before 7:30 p.m. to execute an arrest warrant on the suspect, who was in one of the inner rooms, when gunshots were exchanged between the team and the suspect.
