Dear editor:

Cuban President Raul Castro took the podium in Santiago, Cuba, on July 26, 2008, to deliver the speech which marks the anniversary of the start of the Cuban revolution.

Some consumerism is now being allowed a presence in the horrid government-controlled economy. Some farmers are being allowed to purchase their own supplies and equipment and can even cultivate some portions of tracts of government-owned land!

Heart surgeons who are, of course, paid twice what street sweepers earn (Look what we have to look forward to!) are going to be paid based ...
