Learn about Native American research
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE – Village Genealogical Society will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday at Coronado Center, Hot Springs Village.
“Native American Research” will be the topic of Russell P. Baker, archivist, lecturer, historian, teacher and author, and a native of Arkansas. In 1838, many thousands of Native Americans were forced to move from Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Alabama to Indian territory which is now primarily Oklahoma. They traveled by foot or by some combination of horse, wagon or boat the 1,200 to 2,000 miles. Four main routes were used. Log-In to view full story or view our Registration Guide. | |
