FIVE-YEAR DEAL: Ron Artest appears at a news conference to announce he has signed with the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday in Los Angeles. Artest, who played for the Houston Rockets last season, received a five-year deal worth about $33 million.

Boston and San Antonio signed veteran power forwards Wednesday, with Rasheed Wallace joining the Celtics and Antonio McDyess agreeing to a deal with the Spurs.
