Bettye J. Gwaltney, 82, died Monday, June 29, 2009, in a local hospital.

She was predeceased by her parents, James and Ora Gwaltney and one brother, James Gwaltney Jr.

Survivors include one sister, Carolyn VanWickle; one sister-in-law, Jewel Gwaltney; two neices and one nephew.

Services were held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn.

Memorials may be made to any charity of the donor’s choice.
