ARKADELPHIA – Lendol Jewel Holcomb, 78, died July 4, 2009, at home in Arkadelphia.

Born Feb. 11, 1931, at Fendley Community, Clark County, to Jewel Rush and Amy Cora Kirksey Holcomb, he served in the U.S. Army and worked for the Arkadelphia Police Department, Clark County Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas State Police, reaching the rank of sergeant. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, Vernon, Charles and Gerald, and two sisters, Verlon Floyd and Fern Ainsworth.
