Glyn R. Whidden
Glyn R. Whidden, 94, of Hot Springs, passed away at his home on July 19, 2009, after a brief illness. He was born on Feb. 11, 1915, in Arcadia, Fla., to William Hardy Whidden and Luella Sheffield Whidden. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years and was on the USS Nevada at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. While on the USS Nevada, he not only served in the Pacific but also in the European invasion. He was a member of the Oaklawn Baptist Church, Elks Club, USS Nevada Association and the Arkansas Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. Log-In to view full story or view our Registration Guide. | |
