Harvey Starnes Sr., of Hot Springs, went to be with his Lord Saturday, July 18, 2009. Born in Hot Springs, Oct. 29, 1932, to Buchanan and Elise Starnes, he was a veteran of the Korean War, Purple Heart recipient and a deacon in his church for the past 44 years.

He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife of 52 years, Jean Lynchard Starnes; one brother, Charles Starnes; and one sister, Merle Chapelle.
