HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE – Charles Burris Arterburn, 77, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009.

Burris was born Dec. 1, 1931, to Caroline and Norbourne Arterburn, in Louisville, Ky. After his father died when he was 5, he was raised by his mother and sister Sue, 16 years older. The Arterburn family moved to Kentucky about 1780 and resided on the east side of Louisville, near St. Matthews.

He attended Male High School in Louisville and Illinois Institute of Technology, graduating from the University of Louisville in 1956
