Campgrounds, parks see full holiday weekend

With the holiday weekend bringing thousands of visitors to the Hot Springs area, many stayed at parks, campgrounds and resorts throughout Garland County, all of which were ready and waiting in eager anticipation.

Paula Riley with Lake Catherine State Park said the park, which as 71 campsites with 13 “overflow” sites, was “at full capacity” all Fourth of July weekend, and many patrons visiting from out of state – mostly Texas and Louisiana.

“Everything went pretty smoothly here,” she said.
