System eyes traffic

City: Signal coordination should ease travel times

By the end of the year, coordinated traffic signals on the city’s main corridors should allow traffic to move from one side of town to the other about 50 percent more quickly, city officials said Tuesday.

Using about $300,000 appropriated by the Hot Springs Board of Directors over the past two years, the city’s traffic department has purchased a state-of-the-art computer server system to communicate with individual traffic signals.
