After filing a “reconsider request” in May, Therapeutic Family Services was told Monday it still owes the state $294,738.64 after more than 2,000 incidents of improper Medicaid billing were discovered in an audit.

The Hot Springs-based mental health company originally was asked to pay back more than $300,000 by the Medicaid Program Integrity Unit for the Department of Human Services Division of Medical Services. In two letters, Chief Program Administrator Robin Raveendran said $5,879.10 in “questioned costs” were being dismissed.
