Hot Springs Parks & Recreation Department’s summer softball league has a floor but no ceiling.

Anyone 50 or up is eligible to play on Tuesday nights at Kimery Park, and for the last few years, local resident Dub Ballard has headed the league’s super-senior category. At 83, he hopes to keep playing the summer game for a few more seasons.

“I’m going for 85,” Ballard said before a doubleheader last week. “But I don’t know if I can make it.”
