Preliminary competition begins tonight at Summit Arena for contestants in the Miss Arkansas Pageant 2009.

In keeping with its tradition of providing news and photographic coverage of the annual event, The Sentinel-Record will extend its nightly presstime for the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday editions. There could be some delays on home delivery routes.
