Local man fires at would-be burglar in home, suspect flees
A would-be burglar fled empty-handed after being shot at by a Garland County homeowner who caught the suspect inside his home early Thursday.
According to a Garland County Sheriff’s Department report, the victim, 54, who lives on Ledgerrock Road, states he was awakened around 4:45 a.m. by the sound of his glass-topped coffee table in the living room crashing to the floor. He got up and retrieved his handgun from the night stand and went into the living room where he saw an unknown man standing there. He asked him, “Who are you?” and the man ran toward the kitchen.
