HSSD’s plan for school met with resistance


CHANGING SCHOOLS: Residents in the Park Avenue area in Hot Springs are unhappy with the Hot Springs School District plan to turn the former Park International Baccalaureate Magnet School, 220 Tom Ellsworth, into Vista ALE, a K-12 alternative learning environment run by the district and serving special education students and students with behavioral problems or mental illness.
Debates are brewing among Park Avenue area residents because of the Hot Springs School District’s decision to move its alternative learning environment (ALE) to the Park International Baccalaureate Magnet School building in their neighborhood.

HSSD will move Vista ALE, a K-12 school run by the district and serving special education students and students with behavioral problems or mental illness, from its current location at 1201 Spring St. to the Park IB Magnet School building, 220 Tom Ellsworth.
