Mountain Pine High School science teacher Keith Scott was right at home surrounded by other science teachers armed with pipettes and petri dishes during an experiment at the Advanced Placement Summer Institute at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences & the Arts on Wednesday.

“I’m gaining more knowledge about how to do labs in my biology classes, so I can make sure the kids I teach are more prepared for their end-of-course exams,” said Scott, a fifth-year biology, pre-AP biology, anatomy and physiology, and environmental science teacher at MPHS.
