Opportunities knocked for Lakeside to complete an American Legion Class AA doubleheader sweep from Sheridan on Monday night. The Rams just couldn’t answer often enough.

Lakeside saw a pair of two-run leads slip away, then stranded the go-ahead runs in scoring position three straight innings and left runners at second and third in the ninth in an extra-inning 9-8 loss.

“We had plenty of chances to put the game away,” Rams coach Rob Vessell said, “we just failed to execute in key parts of the game, and it really hurt us.”
