FAYETTEVILLE – Decades after Bo Derek, Wendel Davis wants to be a 10.

Not the perfect 10 in looks that the 1979 movie espoused the now 52-year-old actress to be. Just the No. 10 to eradicate the bad taste of a tough 2008 season for the University of Arkansas linebacker wearing No. 47.

“I changed my number,” Davis said. “The main reason for that was to try to get off to a fresh start. That’s how I approach every practice that way. I tried to come out playing a whole lot faster.”
