Trainer Bob Holthus experienced the highs and lows of horse racing Saturday with Grade I winners present and past.

Pure Clan won the Grade III $200,000 Modesty Handicap at Chicago’s Arlington Park, cheering Holthus somewhat after the news that champion Lawyer Ron, his former stable star, had been euthanized.
