Any week that the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont winners compete, whether against each other or separately, is special indeed.

Such is the case this week as Derby winner Mine That Bird goes in the West Virginia Derby on Saturday and Preakness winner Rachel Alexandra and Belmont winner Summer Bird square off in the Haskell Invitational Handicap on Sunday.

A dream matchup of the Triple Crown race winners would occur in the $1 million Travers Stakes – the Midsummer Derby – Aug. 29 at historic Saratoga Racecourse.
