Hot Springs gave its home fans something to celebrate in the Trojans’ season finale.

Chris Hughes’ 1-yard run with 1:37 left gave Hot Springs a dramatic 27-21 victory over cross-town rival Lakeside Friday night at Holt Memorial Field. The Trojans finish 2-8 overall, 1-6 in 5A-Southwest, while Lakeside ends its campaign 1-9, 1-6.

Although Miguel Barragan missed the extra point after Hughes’ touchdown wide left, the Trojans’ defense held, stopping Scott Pratchard on fourth-and-17.

Christian White led the Trojans with 153 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries....
