The holiday season has come to a close. Leftover food sits quietly in the refrigerator still waiting to be consumed. Mountains of decorations have been carefully returned to their storage places in the attic or the closet. The parties are over and the relatives have all gone home. Life returns to "normal."

Chauvin featured guest at January's America's Art Form concert

Vocalist and entertainer Shirley Chauvin is the featured guest at January's America's Art Form concert, "A Tribute to the Great Vocalists," from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday in Garland County Library's Gordonelle Williams Auditorium. The concert is free and will feature David Higginbotham on bass, Paul Stivitts on drums and Clyde Pound on keyboards.

Computer Club of HSV announces schedule HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- The Computer Club of HSV begins the new year with its regularly scheduled free help sessions at Village Church of Christ on Balboa. At 1 p.m. Tuesday, the Mobile Device Users group meets for assistance with any and all mobile devices. At 2 p.m., the drop-in help session for any and all computer questions meets.

Civic clubs Hot Springs Village Shrine Club meets at 5 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month, except June through August, in the Room of the Woodlands for a social hour with dinner at 6 p.m. All Shriners and their ladies are welcome. The requirements of becoming a Shriner in Arkansas have changed. Anyone interested in joining may call Bob Whipple, 922-6561, or Gerald Gordy, 217-649-2643. Support groups Narcotics Anonymous meets at 2 and 8 p.m. today at 919 Hobson Ave. This is a 12-step recovery program for people for whom drugs have become a major problem.
