Scott “Edgil” Marrell, 34, of Hot Springs, passed away Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at his home. He was born March 4, 1975, in South Bend, Ind., to Karen Hullinger Marrell and Sam Marrell. He was a self-employed roofer and was of the Baptist faith.

James Archer “Jim” Smith, 59, of Hot Springs, died Monday, Aug. 10, 2009. Born Nov. 21, 1949, to Ruth V. and Hiram A. Smith, in Hot Springs. Mr. Smith was a lifelong resident of Hot Springs and a local businessman.

The service for Dewey Alan Thurman, 60, of Hot Springs, who died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, will be 10 a.m. today in Gross Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Gerald Taylor officiating and military honors.
