Bullard receives basketball Academic All-American honor

ARKADELPHIA -- Ouachita Baptist senior Kori Bullard, a graduate of Lake Hamilton High School, was among 15 female student-athletes named Monday to the 2017-18 Academic All-America Division II Basketball Teams as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Bullard was previously named first-team Division II Academic All-American by CoSIDA for volleyball in December. She has maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average as a Biology/Pre-Med major.

The Division II Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2017-18 Division II Academic All-America teams program.

Bullard was named to the All-America Third Team this week for basketball. She was among seven of the 15 All-Americans to hold a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA.

Northern State senior Miranda Ristau was named the CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year after averaging 19.8 points per game and leading the Wolves to a 76-65 win in the NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament over Arkansas Tech. She also maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Other Third Team selections were Alisha Breen, senior, Montana State, 3.67 GPA, Health and Human Performance major; Morgan Dahlstrom, senior, Southern Indiana, 3.91, Exercise Science; Emily Ferreri, junior, Saint Michael's College, 4.0, Biology; and Anja Fuchs-Robetin, junior, Florida Southern College, 3.92, Exercise Science.

Bullard joined the Tigers five games into the season after wrapping up her final volleyball season. She averaged six points and a team-high 5.3 rebounds per game in her senior year.

Bullard has received the Crafton Tull Elite Scholar Athlete award from the Great American Conference in each of the past two years.
