Dear editor:

Well, well — welcome to Garland County, Ark.

Both candidates for district court judge made headlines yesterday (May 9). Seems they have some baggage. But let’s take a closer look at that baggage.

Joe Graham possibly performed a “frat boy” stunt with the allegations against him. However, this behavior was not a factor in performance reviews, job performance or promotion. This has been demonstrated and documented under all his supervisors — Steve Oliver, Teri Harris and Michelle Lawrence.

On the other hand, Tamra Barrett, a part-time public defender, has committed several misdemeanors. These include speeding, failure to pay and failure to appear. A bench warrant out of Saline County was issued for this and her driver’s license was suspended on two occasions!

Ms. Barrett attributes this lack of judgment/scheduling to being a busy public defender, a busy mom, PTA president, etc. And I am not even mentioning the ethics charges mentioned!

Need more be mentioned?

Who would you feel is most sin-free to sit in judgment of others?
