FAYETTEVILLE -- Members of Arkansas' women's cross country team, along with coach Lance Harter and members of the men's cross country team.
Lance Harter, the coach of the SEC championship women's cross country team, was named the SEC Coach of the Year for the 19th time. Harter, the league's winningest coach, had four runners named to the women's All-SEC First Team and two on the second team.
Katrina Robinson, Lauren Gregory, Carina Viljoen and Taylor Werner were all named to the first team with Sydney Brown and Maddy Reed making second team. Robinson was also named to the league's All-SEC freshman team. Earlier this year, Werner was named the SEC Women's Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Year.
Gilbert Boit, the SEC individual champion for coach Chris Bucknam's Razorback men, was named the SEC Men's Runner of the Year after helping the team reach a second-place finish at the conference meet in Auburn, Ala. In his first season with the Razorbacks, Boit has won two meets and holds the season-best time of 22:20.13 in the 8K in the SEC. He is the fifth Razorback over the past eight seasons to take the individual title.
Boit was also one of the four named to the All-SEC teams. He and Cameron Griffith were named first team with Ryan Murphy and Ethan Moehn making the second team. Murphy was also named to the freshman squad and was named SEC Freshman of the Year.
The Razorbacks men and women compete in Friday's South Central Regional Qualifying meet in College Station, trying for a top two team finish automatically advancing to the NCAA Cross Country championship Nov. 17 in Madison, Wis.Sports on 11/08/2018
