Several hundred local Realtors recently raised over $23,000 to help purchase food that will be used to feed hungry students.

The food is purchased from local grocery stores and delivered to area schools to be distributed to students based on the needs and requests brought forth by school counselors and administration.

The Hot Springs Board of Realtor's mission was to partner with the area schools to help fight childhood hunger in Garland County. The program was designed to meet the needs of hungry children that are not receiving proper nutrition or meals at home, at times when other resources are not available, such as on weekends and school vacations.

HSBOR may also choose to purchase meals for Thanksgiving or Christmas and any additional special needs and requests brought to the Board of Realtors for consideration.

The program currently serves all seven Garland County school districts.
