1 dead, 1 injured in plane crash

DE QUEEN -- Authorities say one man was killed and another seriously injured when a plane crashed into a southwestern Arkansas pasture.

Sevier County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Chad Dowdle told the Texarkana Gazette that the twin-engine aircraft crashed into a pasture Sunday near De Queen, about 130 miles (209 kilometers) southwest of Little Rock.

Dowdle said the injured man was taken to a Little Rock hospital in undisclosed condition.

No names were released, but Dowdle said both men were Sevier County residents.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
