The 2019 JazzFest will kick off Aug. 23 with a lively presentation of the Spa City Stompers at the Hot Springs Bathhouse Dinner Theater and continue Aug. 29 through Sept. 1, over the Labor Day weekend.

Other concerts scheduled are Jazz Night at The Ohio Club, Classical & Jazz Blow Out, JazzFest Block Party, a special smooth jazz concert on Sunday and St. Luke's Jazz Mass.

Tickets to attend JazzFest concerts range from free to $55. Visit, call 501-627-2425 or email for more information.

During the 2016 JazzFest, a local art organization, Emergent Arts, set up a booth and started a project that was shared by JazzFest attendees of all ages and skill levels. Throughout the free, seven-hour outdoor concert, a painting was created that represents jazz music at its best; the harmonious collaboration born from contributions of many to create a single piece of art, a news release said.

The final piece of work, adjusted by local graphic design artist Hope Foster, was used to create this year's JazzFest graphic seen on T-shirts and print materials. The final piece of art can be viewed at each of the scheduled concerts during the festival and will ultimately be auctioned at the Jazz Society's annual fundraiser, Mardi Gras Costume Ball & Contest, on Saturday, Feb. 2020.

The Hot Springs Jazz Society is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to perpetuating, promoting and preserving Jazz Music, an original American art form.
