VBC wraps up summer Bible studies

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- The last in a series of one-day Summer Lightning Bible Studies will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Village Bible Church, 100 Ponderosa Way, Hot Springs Village. There will be a preview of the fall in-depth studies from 9-10:30 a.m., followed by registration for the classes.

All ladies are welcome to attend the free study.

Today's Ouachita Chapter meeting to feature Davidsonville

Kathy Cande of the Arkansas Archeological Survey will be the featured speaker Ouachita Chapter of the Arkansas Archeological Society meeting at 7 p.m. today in the Maurice Room of National Park Medical Center, 1910 Malvern.

Cande will present "Davidsonville, Arkansas, Frontier Settlement or Mercantile Powerhouse?" Excavations at Davidsonville Historic State Park reveal that many architectural materials and everyday items at this early 19th-century community were imports from Europe and Asia, the society said in a news release.
