Pedestrian struck

Garland County sheriff's deputies and Arkansas State Police interview the female driver of a Nissan Murano who allegedly struck a pedestrian in the parking lot of McDonald's, 3101 Albert Pike, shortly before 9:30 a.m. Monday. According to Piney Fire Department Chief Scott Miser, the Murano pulled into an empty parking space where a man was standing, striking the man and running over his legs. Several bystanders reportedly witnessed the incident. The injured man was transported by LifeNet to an area hospital and the driver was arrested, reportedly for driving under the influence. The incident was still under investigation Monday.
