"We responded to National Park hospital in reference to a gunshot victim. We determined the incident took place at 315 Grove St. and officers searched the area for Ward," Hot Springs police Cpl. Joey Williams said Monday.

Williams also noted that Barnett is in stable condition, and his injuries were not life-threatening.

Three marked units and a National Park Service ranger were in the area of Grove Street and Mound Street around 4 p.m. on Sunday, interviewing possible witnesses and searching the area with the assistance of K-9 officers.

The National Park Service responded with their own K-9 officer to bring "a fresh nose" to the search, police said at the scene.
