St. Luke's Jazz Mass
St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 228 Spring St., will host its annual Jazz Mass during the 10:45 a.m. service Sunday.
Special music will be provided by Jeff Long, piano; Brad Birge, bass; Jay Payette, drums; Shelley Martin, flute and sax; Matt Dickson, tenor sax; and the St. Luke's Parish Choir.

Unite to Serve
The "Church Women United Human Rights Celebration," an opportunity for men and women of any faith to come together to share a common worship experience, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 6 at Cottrell Chapel CME Church, 698 E. Grand Ave.
The event will honor individuals or groups who have worked for the cause of human rights and the inherent identity and equal inalienable rights of all people toward freedom, justice and peace in the world.
"This celebration is also a time to recognize people or groups who have worked to make these impacts on our community, the state and/or the world. The recipient of the Human Rights Award this year is a group called the Difference Makers Hot Springs. ... This is a unique group made-up of professional volunteers and business affiliates who share a common goal of giving back to the city of Hot Springs in a spirit of unity," a news release said.
Registration will begin at 9 a.m. Refreshments will be served during registration. The Leader's Council of the Garland County Unit is the coordinator of this event and welcomes all Garland County residents to attend. For more information, call Rosetta DuBose at 501-922-6839.
