A Hot Springs teen was arrested Thursday evening on a felony battery charge for allegedly stabbing a 22-year-old man twice in the chest while the two were arguing early Tuesday.

Julius Joseph "Juju" Dominic Nash, 18, who lists a Spring Street address, was taken into custody shortly after 6:30 p.m. and charged with second-degree battery, punishable by up to six years in prison.

He was later released on a $2,500 bond and is set to appear Dec. 17 in Garland County District Court.

Nash was previously arrested on Sept. 5 after allegedly shooting a gun several times into an occupied car on April 19, hitting one man in the shoulder. He was charged with three counts of committing a terroristic act, one punishable by up to life in prison and two by up 20 years, and one count of first-degree battery, punishable by up to 20 years.

Nash was released on Oct. 19 on a $50,000 bond and pleaded not guilty to the charges in Garland County Circuit Court on Nov. 5. A hearing to determine the admissibility of any statements he made to Hot Springs police after his arrest is set for Feb. 18.

According to the probable cause affidavit on the stabbing, shortly after 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, the victim, who was being treated at National Park Medical Center, reported to police he had been stabbed by a known suspect, identified as Nash.

The victim said he was at his residence on Marymee Street sitting in his 2017 Chevrolet Malibu when Nash knocked on the driver's window and asked him for a ride. He said Nash was upset and "yelling about the mother of his child moving out of state."

The victim gave Nash a ride to Nash's grandmother's house on Cones Road. During the ride there Nash continued to be upset and asked the victim about a gun he had left in his vehicle a few days earlier.

The victim said he didn't know about any gun Nash had left and at that point Nash pulled a knife on him in the car. Once they got to the residence on Cones Road, the victim got out of the car because Nash was "still acting out" and still holding the knife.

An argument ensued that turned physical and during the fight Nash reportedly stabbed the victim two times in the upper torso, puncturing one of the victim's lungs.

The affidavit notes the victim drove himself to the emergency room at NPMC for treatment "with the assistance of Nash." A warrant was issued for Nash's arrest later that same day.

According to the affidavit on his Sept. 5 arrest, on April 19, shortly before 8:30 p.m., police responded to the apartment building at 680 Weston Road to a report of shots fired.

Officers located several shell casings and what appeared to be glass from a vehicle in the parking lot. A short time later, police were notified of a male gunshot victim who had been taken to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs.

Officers spoke to the victim, who had been shot once in the upper left shoulder. He stated he was riding in a car with his female cousin and her female roommate to pick up the roommate's daughter from a babysitter at the Weston Road apartments.

Shortly after they arrived at the residence, the victim heard several gunshots and realized he had been shot in the shoulder.

The victim's cousin said she was in the parking lot when she saw her roommate's ex-boyfriend, identified as Nash, pull up and go inside the apartment where the roommate was getting her daughter. She said she saw Nash exit the apartment, pull out a gun and start shooting at her vehicle.

She told police she could see Nash clearly and that he fired seven times at her vehicle. The last bullet broke the back glass of her car and struck her cousin in the back seat. She said Nash got back in his vehicle and left, noting she knew Nash because he used to live with her cousin and because of his former relationship with her roommate.

The roommate told police she saw Nash enter his mother's apartment where she was picking up her daughter. She said Nash "appeared to be upset" about her picking up her daughter with her roommate and walked out of the apartment. Moments later she heard gunfire and then saw Nash driving away.

A warrant was issued for Nash and he was featured on the HSPD's "Warrant Wednesday" Facebook post, leading to his arrest.
