Morning Star UMC to host Christmas program
Morning Star United Methodist Church, 3200 Spring St., will host "Sing We Now of Christmas," a cantatas and musical program, at 4 p.m. Sunday.
Pastor Rick and Francy Wilkins, of Mayflower UMC, will be welcomed to their 17th season of singing the program. Francy is a featured soloist and member of the choir, and they have both been singing since childhood.
The Wilkins' have carefully selected a Scripture reading before each carol, in an effort to tell the Christmas story of Jesus' birth in Bethlehem.

marks 82nd anniversary
Nazarene Baptist Church, 220 Silver St., will celebrate its 82nd church anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday.
The guest pastor will be Mike Mason. Dinner will be served afterward.
