Bismarck Middle School Principal Ellen Coleman announced that the Veterans of Foreign Wars chose Patriot's Pen essays by two students as the best regional entries on Nov. 13. Sixth-grader Kathryn Stiffler was awarded first place and $100 from the VFW. Eighth-grader Sadie Davis was awarded $50 for her second-place entry. - Submitted photo
