Garland County Sheriff's Reserve Capt. Hank Nowak reports that reserve deputies worked a total of 471 hours in January, including 133 hours in the patrol division, responding to 19 calls and taking five reports.
"We participated in three funeral escorts, one of which was for former Hot Springs Police Capt. Willie McCoy," Nowak said.
For 2018, the unit put in a total of 5,553 hours in all areas of the sheriff's office, he said, including 2,182 on patrol, 909 in the criminal investigation division, and 439 in the Garland County Detention Center.
"Overall, our efforts bolstered the department by approximately two and a half additional people," Nowak said.
