Immanuel Christian celebrates 28 years

Immanuel Christian Fellowship, under the leadership of Pastors Fred and Georgann Nicholson, 1536 E. Grand Ave., will celebrate its 28th church anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The guest speaker will be Pastor Alfred Jones of Sharon Seventh-day Adventist Church. Jones' favorite scripture is 1 John 1:9, because he believes everyone deserves a second chance. Living Waters Church of God In Christ will present Hats Galore, with the theme, "And they Call her Blessed," honoring and paying tribute to Missionary Cora Withers, with Sister Kathy Crossley of St Mark Baptist Church Hot Springs as guest speaker, at 3 p.m. Sunday at Living Waters Church of God in Christ, 306 Grove St.

Crossley has worked in the banking industry for 21 years. She earned her B.A. in Sociology at Henderson State University and works at Community Counseling Inc. as a financial case manager. She is the third vice president of the Consolidated Missionary Baptist State Convention of Arkansas-Women's Auxiliary. "She loves working in ministry, serving God's people, and singing His praises," a news release said.

Hats can be registered to model at 2:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome, "so put on your hats and join in the celebration," a release said.

Spiritual talk held on life after death

A free spiritual discussion exploring the secrets of life after death will be offered from 3-4 p.m. Wednesday at the Hot Springs Village Room 2 of the Coronado Community Center, 150 Ponderosa Lane.

"Gain new perspectives on seeing heaven before you die, explore near-death experiences and how to deal with grief, a news release said.

Attendees will receive a free booklet, "Spiritual Wisdom on Life After Death," by Harold Klemp, the spiritual leader of Eckankar. All faiths are welcome. Call 877-401-0016 for more information.

Visitors Chapel AME celebrates Men's Day

The Sons of Allen Men's Ministry of Visitors Chapel AME Church, 319 Church St., will celebrate Men's Day 2019 beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday with the theme, "Becoming the Master's Mighty Men."

Speakers will include the Rev. Marvin Mosby, pastor of Greater Shady Grove AME Church of Wilmar with the morning worship service at 11 a.m.; and the Rev. Kenneth Gulley, pastor of Greater St. Paul Baptist Church, with the Men's Day Service at 3 p.m.

St. Thomas Baptist celebrates Black History

St. Thomas Baptist Church, 347 Grove St., will present a program, "Black History Made Us," at 3 p.m. Sunday with guest speaker, the Rev. Anthony "Keith" Johnson of First Lutheran Church.

The public is welcome to attend.
