Magic Springs Theme & Water Park's 16th summer concert series is shaping up to be the biggest in Timberwood Amphitheater's history, a park official said Tuesday.

Magic Springs on Tuesday announced eight of the 14 concerts scheduled for the 2019 Summer Concert Series at Timberwood Amphitheater, which opened in 2003.

Concerts will offer something for all tastes this year with genres ranging from classic rock, country, Christian to contemporary, a park news release said.

Michael Wampler, director of sales and marketing for Magic Springs, said the concerts have always been a big draw for the park.

"When you can add a concert on a Saturday night in the summer that's free with admission or for season pass holders, that's a huge value for the consumer," he said.

The 2019 series will open May 25 with The Marshall Tucker Band and Kentucky Headhunters, followed by Skid Row, Stryper and KIX on June 1.

July will start off with Muddfest on July 6, featuring Puddle of Mudd, Saliva, Trapt, Saving Abel and Tantric. On July 13, the park welcomes country legend Ricky Skaggs, followed by Roots & Boots 90s Electric Throw Down Tour on July 20 featuring Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin and Collin Raye. On July 27, Christian superstars for KING & COUNTRY will take the stage.

The series rounds out in August with the Eli Young Band Aug. 3 and the Village People on Aug. 31.

Wampler said there are still six concerts left to announce, but the park is currently waiting on the artists to sign their agreements. The remaining six concerts will be announced on the Magic Springs website each Tuesday, he said.

"The exciting thing for us is this is shaping up to be the biggest concert series we've ever seen," Wampler said. "Because of all the festivals and shows with multiple artists, we're looking at over 23 different artists performing over 14 dates.

"And when you take Boots & Roots, for example, those are three artists that I would consider all headliners -- Sammy Kershaw, Collin Raye, Aaron Tippin. They're all big names in one show."

Wampler said the park is looking to fill the remaining dates with additional rock, Christian, and country artists, as well as possibly a "tween pop" artist.

"We are extremely excited about how our 2019 concert lineup is shaping up," Jack Bateman, general manager of Magic Springs Theme & Water Park, said in the release. "Our Season Pass holders count on us to deliver exciting and diverse acts and this lineup does just that, offering something for every musical taste."

All concerts are free with park admission. Season passes are currently available for $64.99.
