Lady Rams turn in season-best performance for win in Conway

Lakeside's boys and girls bowling teams picked up a pair of wins over the weekend with the Lady Rams turning in their best performance of the season Friday night.

The Lady Rams (7-4, 3-3 5A-West) downed Bauxite, North Little Rock and Mayflower in Friday's match in Conway, knocking down 1,947 pins. Bauxite finished second with 1,570 pins, Mayflower toppled 1,346 and North Little Rock had 1,258 pins.

Destiny Phillips led her pair with games of 150 and 143 for a two-game series of 293. Rachel Langley bowled games of 148 and 122 (270 series), and Abby Shelby finished with a 248 series with games of 126 and 122.

Chloe Junkerman finished with a season-high series of 350 after carding games of 203 and 147. Paige Hines finished with games of 162 and 118 for a series of 280, and Kaithlyn Nguyen bowled games of 143 and 117 for a 260 series.

On Monday, the Lady Rams took down Texarkana at Central Bowling Lanes to split their series. Lakeside knocked down 1,935 to Texarkana's 1,921.

Lakeside led by 10 pins going into the baker match, knocking down 34 fewer pins than the Lady Razorbacks in the first baker match before taking the 14-pin win with a final baker score of 175.

Phillips bowled a series of 325 to lead the Lady Rams with games of 168 and 157. Janna Sims had games of 114 and 120 for a series of 234, and Shelby finished with a series of 218 with games of 122 and 96.

Junkerman had another strong performance, carding games of 162 and 157 for a 436 series to lead her pairing. Nguyen bowled games of 134 and 145 for a series of 279, and Hines finished with a series of 260 with games of 127 and 133.

Boys

The Rams (10-1, 5-1) won by just under 400 pins in Friday's match, knocking down 2,449. Mayflower finished with 2,060 for second place, North Little Rock tallied 1,839 and Bauxite knocked down 1,677.

Landon Gray recorded games of 184 and 150 to lead his pair with a series of 324. Jimmy Tejcek carded a series of 299 with games of 149 and 150, and Kade Arguello and Kade Tarbet bowled games of 150 and 159 to split their series.

Tyson Keeney led the team with a series of 436 after games of 246 and 190. Hunter Rhodes bowled a series of 252 with games of 153 and 99, and Dilann Allen finished with games of 191 and 222 for a 413 series.

On Monday, the Rams struggled to find the pocket on dry lanes but still managed to collect the win over Texarkana.

Tarbet recorded his first series of 400 with games of 205 and 218 for a two-game series of 423. Gray bowled a series of 297 with games of 138 and 159, and Tejcek and Rhodes split their series with games of 122 and 189, respectively.

Keeney led his pairing with a series of 366 after recording games of 159 and 207. Arguello carded games of 147 and 168 to finish with a 315 series, and Allen bowled a 272 series with games of 156 and 116.

Both varsity teams will be back at Central Bowling Lanes this afternoon for a tri-match against Lake Hamilton and Hot Springs at 4 p.m.
