Frances Elizabeth Bagwell Crawford, 97, of Hot Springs, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and savior Jesus Christ on June 18, 2019. There she was greeted by her parents, Archibald Jackson Bagwell and Jennie Vera Morgan Bagwell; her brothers, Charlie Morgan Bagwell and Roy Raymond Bagwell; her granddaughter, Merrilye Elizabeth Capps; and her niece, Barbara Jane Bagwell.

Born in Wilder, Tenn., Frances loved everything Tennessee, especially the Tennessee Volunteers and Dolly Parton. She maintained her membership at Emerald Avenue United Methodist Church in Knoxville, Tenn.; worked for almost 40 years for the Bell Telephone System, South Central Bell in Knoxville, Tenn.; and was a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers of America- the Tennessee Chapter, of course.

Frances' attention to detail was evident in her meticulous organizational skills, her amazing green thumb, and her delicious pound cake! She was a voracious reader and always seemed to be in the middle of a thick book.

Feisty with a tender heart, Frances treasured each member of her family. Keeping in touch with a sweet hug or a thoughtful phone call was important to Frances. She always had time for her nieces, Betty Ann Dowden (Don) and Marlene Kay Moore (Jim); her nephew Roy Allen Bagwell (Jean); and her cousins, Drury and Sandy Bagwell.

Her daughter, Betty Capps (Billy), will remember the lifetime of love her mother gave, the stories she told, and all the laughing Frances' wonderful sense of humor brought. Her surviving grandchildren Leslie Ann Whalen (Jeremy), Charles Michael Capps (Julie), and Jon Mark Capps (Lori) have so many memories they will share with their children- Frances' nine great grandchildren. And just as Frances was welcomed in Heaven, her first great-great-granddaughter blessed the family.

Frances' family is so grateful to Margo Diaz; the Hearts and Homes Residential Care Family; for Danny and Rose following the Lord's guidance by creating such an inspiring facility; for the dignity and tenderness provided by Brandi and Dean Wilkins, as well as, Patti Morgan; and for the fellow residents who became beloved friends.

The family is especially grateful for Kathy Norton who became so much more than a caregiver. Kathy's kindness was not just a comfort to Frances, but to Frances' family. Knowing Frances was loved, happy snuggling to Kathy and Sunny (her stuffed dog), and enjoying a fountain Coke from Sonic meant so much.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hearts and Homes, 154 Hamilton Dairy Road, Hot Springs, AR 71909.

A visitation followed by a Celebration of Frances' Life will be held at Gross Funeral Home, Saturday, July 13, 2019 beginning at 10 a.m. Mike Pounders will officiate.
