All Things Home sponsors Summer Camp Craft Day

All Things Home Extension Homemakers recently sponsored a 4-H Summer Camp Craft Day.

Twenty-four children ranging in age from 5 through 17 participated. Barbara Bradstreet and Jane Oliver taught the craft of cheese-making, plus provided breakfast and lunch for the group.

Paper crafts of medallions and pop-up cards were taught by Joy Ann Miles, Bert Manning, Michael Pratt, Ruth Whartenby and Kim Lew. Recycled toilet rolls were turned into snakes and butterflies with the help of Gayle Brown and Pat Sitzenstock. Natural pine cones were used to create tarantulas and owls guided by Pam Stevens and Cheryl Volpert. Crafts made using wood were airplanes and key hangers.

The 4-H children learned many skills plus had loads of fun, a news release said.

Call Linda Bates at the Garland County Extension Service Office for more information about 4-H. This was the second year for All Things Home to sponsor this craft workshop and enjoy a very rewarding experience, the release said.

Call Alison Crane for more information on All Things home or any of the 11 other extension clubs. Bates and Crane can be reached at 501-623-6841.
