Sherry G. Cockman, 69, of Hot Springs, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019, after a courageous battle against cancer. She passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Sherry was born Oct. 20, 1949, in Hearne, Texas, to Walter McLeroy and Lucille Jane "Dolly" McKinney. Her parents, granddaughter, Jaime Rhiannon Drewyor, father-in-law, Jack Smoot, and nephew, Jason Smoot, preceded her in death.
Sherry was a member of LakePointe Church, an avid crossword puzzler, loved Elvis, was the biggest WWE Wrestling fan you would ever meet, a devoted wife, mother and Nana, who truly cherished and enjoyed her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Words cannot express how much she will be missed.
Survivors include her loving husband of 43 years, Tom Cockman, of Hot Springs; one sister, Debbie McLeroy, of Meridian, Miss.; two cousins, Donna Sanders, of Franklin, Texas, and Diane Monroe, of Meridian, Miss.; four daughters, Nikki Puckett (Whit Gregory), Erica Java (Patrick), both of Hot Springs, Carolyn Drewyor, Jennifer Montes (Gil), both of Texas; one son, Lenny White (Anna), of Tennessee; stepdaughter, April Robinson (George), of Hot Springs; 14 grandchildren, Jaylen Puckett, Lane Williams, Peyton Williams, Ayden Java, Aleeya Gregory, all of Hot Springs, Seana Strother (Daniel), Cristina James (Sam), Natalie Garner, Valerie Smith (Aaron), Elliot Montes, Jonah Montes, Leonard White, Travis Drewyor (Melinda), Audrey Lawson (Brian), all of Texas; seven great-grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Tresa Smoot; two sisters-in-law, Tina Smoot Donoho and Kris Smoot, all of Hot Springs; one brother-in-law, Jack Earl Smoot (Tara), of Quitman, Ark.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, among a large host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Hot Springs Funeral Home.
Celebration of life services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Hot Springs Funeral Home chapel with Tina Smoot Donoho officiating.
Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, 241 Festival, Hot Springs, AR 71901, watch for signs.
Pallbearers are Jack Earl Smoot, Jaylen Puckett, Whit Gregory, Patrick Java, Lane Williams, Lenny White and Jason Waterall.
Honorary pallbearers are Marie Sorrell, Kay and Loye Thornton and Mary Butler.
