Emergency personnel work the scene of a two-vehicle wreck that occurred shortly before noon Tuesday at the intersection of Greenwood Avenue and Third Street. Joe Shelnutt, 26, was eastbound on Greenwood in a 2014 Dodge when he reportedly ran the stop sign and struck a 1997 Chevrolet pickup driven by Brittany Outler, 27, who was northbound on Third, causing the pickup to flip on its roof. Hot Springs police Cpl. Joey Williams said Outler and a passenger were injured and transported to a local hospital. Shelnutt was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and Outler was cited for no proof of insurance.
