Garland County Detention Center Deputy Aaron Standiford, center, was awarded a letter of commendation by Chief Deputy of Corrections Steven Elrod, left, and Sheriff Mike McCormick, right, for the initiative he showed administering adrenaline to an unresponsive inmate April 15. The sheriff's department said Standiford's quick action and training averted what could have been a fatal outcome for the inmate.
