Democratic Party to hold

monthly meeting March 27

The March meeting of the Democratic Party of Garland County will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at the Democratic Headquarters at 608 W. Grand Ave.

The special guest speaker will be Jacob Kauffman, legislative affairs coordinator and deputy director of communications at the Democratic Party of Arkansas.

Before serving in this capacity at DPA, Kauffman worked in journalism, providing reporting to National Public Radio, PBS, BBC Radio, and the Nashville News. Parkinson's support group

to meet Friday at CCV

The Hot Springs Parkinson's Support Group will meet at 11 a.m. Friday in the Star Dust Room on the second floor of the main entrance to Country Club Village.

Kristen Woods, of Hospice Home Care, will speak on palliative care, an option for people not ready for hospice but wanting care at home. Parkinson's patients and their caregivers are welcome. Lunch is available for $7 downstairs following the meeting for anyone interested.

The public is welcome to attend a public meeting presentation about the Hot Springs Area Wayfinding Project from 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday in Rooms 201 and 202 of the Hot Springs Convention Center, 134 Convention Blvd. Call the MPO at 501-302-5028 for more information.

City public works director

to address community group

The Park Avenue Community Association will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the Garland County Pre-K School building, 220 Tom Ellsworth.

The guest speaker will be Denny McPhate, the city's Public Works director, who will provide city updates, including stormwater retention plans for the Park/Whittington area.

The agenda will also include codes information, and updates on projects affecting the Park neighborhood. Light snacks will be available.

Preceptor Epsilon

to meet Monday evening

The Preceptor Epsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the home of Cecile Green, 2905 Airport Road. Green will host the meeting, and the program will be presented by Sonja Chupik. There will not be a carpool to this meeting.
