JESSIEVILLE -- Ruby Marie Blocker, age 96, of Jessieville, passed away March 22, 2019. She was born November 29, 1922, in Cedar Glades, Ark., to Walter and Bertha Parker Adams. Ruby enjoyed her family, gardening, quilting, and working puzzles. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church for 84 years.
Other than her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Blocker, to whom she married April 12, 1941; brothers, Omar Adams and Winford Adams; and son-in-law, Claude Allen Claire.
Survivors include her children, Marvell Blocker (Linda), Virlene Claire and Karen Murders (Lannie); grandchildren, Stephen Claire, Kim Dorris (Gary), Keith Blocker (Beverly), Stephanie Meredith, Hinton Murders and Jeremy Holt; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Caruth-Village Funeral Home.
A celebration of Ruby's life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Brother's Randy Noles and Todd Noles officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ruby's grandsons, great-grandsons and great-great-grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers include Pat Smith, Jeanie Savall and family, Regina Smith, Rock Springs Baptist Church, Dr. Neeraj Bharany, Jarrod Breshears and Kindred Hospice.
