Elks Lodge recognizes Eagle Scouts
Hot Springs Lodge 380 members recently held a Recognition Ceremony and presented award plaques to two new Eagle Scouts from Hot Springs Troop 10.
The Eagle Scouts and their families were hosted at dinner by the lodge then honored by the members as part of the Elks' Americanism Program.
The Eagle Scouts described their Eagle Projects during the ceremony. Scout David Carter renovated a room at a local church, painted, built shelves and laid tile flooring to make a food pantry, while Scout Dilann Allen built an entrance ramp, opened a new doorway, painted, steam cleaned carpet and repaired trim work to provide an eye clinic at a local church.
Both Scouts, along with the other members of Troop 10, have been involved at Elks Lodge 380 for flag retirement ceremonies, Flag Day programs, annual family picnic, various drug awareness events and have served at banquets during visits from the grand exalted ruler and first lady for the past two years.
