Next Spa City Kidz event set for Chattanooga Park

The next Spa City Kidz event will be held at Chattanooga Park, 530 Chattanooga St., from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Free clothing, food, toiletries, and household items are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There will also be free haircuts for children, and story time for children at 10 a.m. by Heittie Lue Brooks.

Spa City Kidz will return to Wade Street Park next month.

Bake sale fundraiser set for Saturday at mall

VFW 2278 Auxiliary will hold a bake sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday to raise funds for the 2019-20 program year.

The fundraiser is being held in coordination with the Honor Ride Car & Bike Show in the south parking lot of Hot Springs Mall, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All VFW Auxiliary members are asked to donate a baked good or cash by calling 501-762-2001.

"If you are the spouse, son, daughter, mother, father, grandparent or sibling of a combat veteran we need you to consider joining us as we continue the auxiliary's 75 years of service to veterans in the Hot Springs community," a news release said.

The auxiliary has local programs that provide aid, education and scholarships to veterans and their families. It meets at 10:30 a.m. on the third Saturday of the month at 3812 Central Ave.
